The ATC SCM 19s are the most accomplished speakers that I have reviewed since starting this channel. It this video I take a look at the ATC SCM 7s, the cheap.

On different occasions over this past year Dominic and I have had the pleasure of listening to the SCM11s and the SCM19s from British loudspeaker company ATC. The SCM-7's and AE1's, in particular, thrive on power - the ATC's rated power handling is 300 watts! (The AE's is something similar.) Just something worth keeping in mind when making your choice. The SCM7s are an altogether more well rounded speaker, and don’t have the same edge-of-the-seat presentation, but they both definitely belong in the “overachieving small speaker” category, and, unless you crave a bigger and more effortless sound, may be the last speaker you ever need. 1 Like Simon-in-Suffolk May 2, 2020, 6:36pm #17 ATC Loudspeakers.

I just find that I prefer the bigger enclosures you just get that little bit more out of them, I actually own and use an older pair of 7s in my second system, don't get me wrong they are excellent speakers, but if you have the money and there are no other issues that would rule them out I'd go for the 11s, well actually personally I'd go for the 19s, but you have to put that into the context ATC current, past and future owners - For me, a pair of SCM 50As as part of the main system, as well as C1C for centre channel and the new SCM 7s for rears, plus C4 sub. All fed by Marantz SR7008 AVR. I have a lot of respect for ATC for their no-nonsense approach to design and build, even if it is getting a bit old. In summary The SCM7 is the smallest of the entire ATC package but offers really much more than you would suspect. This profile sketch is more often hung on small speakers but the SCM7 really has something special. The sound of the SCM7 is very balanced and true to nature, perhaps unique. A pair of the Carbon 7s will also set you back a grand less than a pair of Carreras. As I’ve said before, the Carbon 7s score really high for me on the musicality meter, as they do a great job of capturing the tonal essence and emotion of any musical performance.
